Welcome to my portfolio showcasing my projects and skills
I'm Oliver Cole — a mature Computer Science (Games Development) student at the University of Plymouth and an aspiring game developer. After several years in finance, I decided to pursue games professionally, bringing together technical problem-solving, creative design, and a strong interest in building interactive systems that feel rewarding to engage with.
My recent work has focused on both game development and graphics programming. I am currently developing a 3D logic-gate puzzle game in Godot for my COMP3000 final year project, combining puzzle design, environmental interaction, and core computing concepts within a more playful office-based setting. Alongside this, I have been creating coursework in C++ and OpenGL, exploring areas such as lighting, shaders, materials, post-processing, and immersive 3D scene design.
Across these projects, I enjoy rapid prototyping, iterative playtesting, and refining ideas over time to make them stronger both technically and creatively. I am particularly interested in gameplay systems that encourage experimentation, clear player feedback, and a sense of progression through interaction and discovery.
A lot of my inspiration comes from cinematic and adventure-driven games, especially experiences that combine strong atmosphere, exploration, and satisfying mechanics. I am especially drawn to projects that let me blend technical implementation with game feel, whether that is through puzzle systems, player interaction, or visual presentation.
I'm always looking to keep improving as a developer, both through larger long-term projects and smaller experimental ones.
